During this time eating utensils saw a growth in popularity due to influences from many including Catherine de’ Medici, who brought popularity to the fork along with other food innovations and King Louis XIV of France, who banned pointed knives in 1669, hoping to reduce violence.

Smooth twists, bends, and indentations also hint at key ergonomic points for more comfortable use.
